There's two seasons and an OVA of this wierd, goofy show that never takes itself seriously . . .
NEVER!
The characters constantly talk back to the audience,
the most serious moments are punctuated with pratfalls and slapstick,
ON a regular basis.
The most redeming thing is it never seems to come across as stupid . . .
. . . at least from my perspective.
The fans over at ANN rate this show anywhere from a 7.5 for the OVA,
a solid 8 for the first season,
and, so far, a solid 8.5 for season two.
The character designs are simple, shiny
and the girls are "gilry" enough to make you look more than once or twice.
Personally I find the show very rewatchable and nice to look at, so I give it a solid 8.5...
There seems to be more media for this show than you can shake a stick at....
Along with the anime there's the Manga that the anime was based on,
so far a couple of light novels,
a NintendoDS game set
AND
If you go to places like Hobby Search Japan you can get
cups, bags, posters, pins, figurines
and even hug/body-pillow (dakimakura) covers.
