Not the most involving of titles, the story line isn't too bad.
Billed to be more like a "Sci-fi/Spagetti Western" than just about anything else. It pretty much lives up to the hype.
They could have done a few more things that would have made it much better but I don't write and produce anime.
Over at AniDB and Anime News Network the fans give it a solid 6.5

Personally I could say about a 6 of 10, but I like spagetti westerns.
There were some pretty bad episoeds here and there but overall it was rewatchable and kind of fun. The first couple DVDs were awsome.
It had a tendancey to change it's story line as it went on like they knew where they wanted to go but not how to get there.
I wished numerous times that Meg would just die...
It reminded me of the cartoons I'd watch Saturday morning in the 60' & 70's

The OVA is out from Funimation.
It's kind of a 4 . . .
. . . all the things bad about the original series are in the OVA . . .
. . . and it's much shorter.
